Cracking open the Conscripts Photo Archives, we find these gems from the first round of the 2002 Club Tournament, held at the late Little Wars Game Shop in February of 2002. Could we pack the place, or what? These photos come courtesy of Conscript Second Class Bill Pittman.

- Bob Schaaf makes his move at the vending machine, while Jeff Coyle and John Stadick (in the hat) ponder the jungle density in their match of DB019 The Trail to Hell(zapoppin' Ridge).

- Conscripts galore: At the far left, that's Paul Schill talking to Forrest Atterberry's yellow-shirted son; to the right of Paul sits John Brennan, playing Chris Baer, then Tom Meier against Doug Bush and Bill Stoppel against Wes Fleming. The table in the foreground seats John Slotwinski against the rolling Keith Tyson and Wayne Hadady (with the natty dice box) against Jason Cameron.

- Mike O'Leary (left) takes that old chestnut out for a spin. The old chestnut being Guards Counterattack, not Roni Hourihane.

- Looking towards the back of Little Wars, we see Mike O'Leary's hand about to roll snake-eyes in the bottom left, as Roni Hourihane looks on. The next table up, from the left, features a variety of stumped looking gents, including Wes Fleming, hand to head, the very red hat of Bill Stoppel, and Doug Bush looking at Tom Meier, whose head is obscured by a rather perplexed looking District Commissar. His opponent, John Brennan, asks a question of Joe Jackson, who is paired off against Paul Schill. Beyond that we see Keith Tyson and John Slotwinski, and further on Bob Schaaf looks through a copy of the Journal while Jack Daniels scrambles to find a rule that will keep Tim Stevens from applying that 122L CH. Jeff Coyle and John Stadick round out the picture in the back.

- Jack Daniels has a pair of tweezers, and he isn't afraid to use them, much to the amusement of Tim Stevens. Behind them, Bob Schaaf needs all his concentration to ensure that he doesn't roll his dice into his cup of chili as he plays against Bryan Kropf.

- D'oh! John Slotwinski (right foreground) realizes that he's set up on the wrong side of the river against Keith Tyson, while Jason Cameron (left background) wonders what Wayne Hadady is holding.

- Joe Jackson (left) takes advantage of the +4 TEM granted by the Coca-Cola cup, hoping that Paul Schill will think it's part of the ASLRB v2 revisions, while Chris Baer gesticulates wildly at a nonplussed John Brennan. Doug Bush and Wes Fleming round out the visible faces on the left side of the table.

- Another good look at the club, with Bill Stoppel looking ravishing in red and Tom Meier next to him putting all his squads in a line. Paul Schill is at the far end of that table, right behind an amazed-looking Roni Hourihane. At the table behind, we have Jason Cameron v Wayne Hadady, Keith Tyson v John Slotwinski, and Gary Fortenberry looking over a copy of the Journal. Bob Schaaf, Bryan Kropf, Jack Daniels, Jeff Coyle, and John Stadick round out the picture.

- Some additional faces surface in this shot: top left shows Forrest Atterberry's son (yellow shirt) standing across from his father, and Eric Jablow looks on as Mike O'Leary and Roni Hourihane play. Wes Fleming, Bill Stoppel, and Tom Meier cluster at the top of the next photo, while Paul Schill prepares to settle in for his match. Beyond them, we see Jason Cameron, Keith Tyson, and Doug Bush's back. And that's Bob Schaaf in the back corner.
